Happy 90th Birthday Fenella Fielding!

Hi everyone,

Today is a very special day.

It's Fenella Fielding's birthday today! She is 90 years old!

She has had a film career expanding over 5 decades. She starred in Pieces of Eight in 1958 with Kenneth Williams, but she is best known for playing Valeria Watt in Carry On Screaming! in 1966.

Fenella is an absolute icon and I am so glad to have met her in Liverpool almost 2 weeks ago, she was so sweet and I would love to meet her again if I could.

She has starred alongside some of the biggest names in showbiz... including Kenneth Williams, Eric Thompson, Rik Mayall, Kenneth Connor, Leslie Phillips and more!

So for her birthday, I'm sharing some of her finest moments, thanks to YouTube!

Some 90s kids may recognise her from the TV show Uncle Jack, where she played the Villainess, The Vixen! Here's a link to all the episodes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg_GPv_XfvnC8FD3exZeEI_rlM3HfYw8j

Then there's her 'smoking' scene in Carry On Screaming! "Do you mind if I smoke?" is the 2nd most notable line from the Carry Ons, 1st place going to Kenneth Williams' "Infamy, Infamy, they've all got it in for me!" from Carry On Cleo, here is Fenella in action in the smoking scene:

She became the first actress to guest star on the Morecambe and Wise show in 1969 (I believe!):

Here's another time she guest-starred, in 1972:

Here's my interview compilation, released a few days before I met her:

Here she is performing at the Unity Theatre, which is the performance I went to see:

Finally, here's the video where I met her:

So let's all celebrate her birthday in STYLE! Because at 90, she definitely deserves it!

Thanks for reading! Happy Birthday Fenella!

Amber Reviews: Do You Mind If I Smoke?

Hi everyone!

Just over a week ago, on the 4th November 2017, I travelled to the Unity Theatre in Liverpool to watch the amazing Fenella Fielding read chapter from her recently-released memoirs 'Do You Mind If I Smoke?' with the title of the memoirs being taken from her famous line in Carry On Screaming! in 1966 where she starred as Valeria Watt.

I woke up that morning, really excited that I would be watching her perform that day. I was nervous yet excited, I was on my computer for a bit and then I had to take a shower, I was honestly so excited.

Me and my mother got a nice black Pinafore dress for me for this occasion the night before from New Look at The Coliseum Ellesmere Port, so after my shower I got into my outfit that I was gonna wear for that day. I did a bit of work on my computer (basically watch YouTube and check my Flickr and Emails). I set my computer screensaver to a picture of Fenella Fielding and Simon McKay in Portmeirion on the 29th September because why not? So then I just shut my computer down because I probably wouldn't go on it when I got back.

I went downstairs whilst my mother phoned a taxi to Chester Station. I was chatting to both Quinn and Brianna on Messenger and Quinn was like 'Have you met her yet?' and I was like 'Nah, I'm meeting her tonight'. So after a bit of vlogging we got in the taxi outside to Chester station and we got on the Merseyrail Train.

We arrived at Liverpool Central and I had a look around CeX at the station, I found Carry On Loving on DVD but I didn't buy it, it was around £2.50 hehe

We went to St John's Shopping Centre to do a tiny bit of shopping and I got a Greggs too. Sausage Roll and Rainbow Muffin. I saw a couple of rides in there too, so afterwards, it was around 16:30 now, and Fenella's show didn't start for another 3 hours. We went to Unity Theatre to find out where it was, when we were near the Bombed out church, it started to rain.

We found the Unity Theatre after getting directions from a man who asked if we were lost. At this point it was around 16:50, so we decided to find somewhere to eat and luckily, there was a Pizza Express around the corner. By this point I was so nervous, I had a Margarita Pizza there, I didn't feel like eating a starter, or even pudding I felt so sick (I was so nervous and my anxiety was playing up and I was shaking). I kept going into the toilet and calming myself down, I kept re-adding make up on my face. I just wished Brianna was there. I just watched videos to cheer myself up, including some of Charmx's old videos. When we left the restaurant it was about 18:35 and we made our way to the Unity Theatre. It was a light drizzle of rain now.

Walking up the bottom of the road, we saw Simon McKay walk out of the theatre and put up his umbrella, and he walked to the top of the road. He looked back at us but I suppose he didn't recognise us. We waited outside the theatre for about 5-10 minutes, and then we went in to wait.

We waited in the reception bit and I even saw the assistant headteacher from my old high school there too! No-one recognised me as the Admin from the Fenella Fielding Fan Club on Facebook!

Simon came in and walked past us, he also kept walking out the backstage door too. Me and my mother went up to the toilets again but when we went down the stair... Simon was standing right there. I couldn't contain my excitement, we talked to him and he talked to me whilst my mother had to do something. He had some interesting information for me! This was around 19:15.

Then, the doors opened and we were allowed to go in and find our seats.

At 19:30, the show started. Simon introduced Fenella on stage (well it wasn't a stage it was the same height as the floor) and I predicted her outfit! I did a drawing for her and I drew her in that exact outfit! Part 1 was really interesting, her voice is like silk, her outfit was lovely. She talked about the 1960s in the first half, I found it funny when she swore! Simon even said a mild swear word when talking to Fenella after part one! Bless her she walks so slow, she held Simon's hand when they walked back stage!

We went to the restroom again... I was trembling so much, but I was super excited too!

We got back to our seats and the second half began, Simon gave her a drink of water when he heard her voice becoming hoarse, which I thought was incredibly sweet, I tried not to go crazy and fangirl!

After the performance was a Q&A, a couple of people asked Fenella about her performing in Pieces Of Eight in 1958 with Kenneth Williams... Simon looked scared, I know my friend Adam advised me not to ask her about Kenneth, which I wisely didn't! I managed to gather up the courage to ask her about Uncle Jack. She said that when she was in Notting Hill once, some adults recognised her from Uncle Jack! Me and my friend Tularis uploaded ALL the episodes to YouTube after I was looking for them!

Then, I waited to be one of the last people to meet Fenella, and when I met her, I was so happy. She even got me a gift too, a box of signed eyelashes! I was so honoured, she is one of the most kindest celebrities I have ever met! I gave her my drawing, and some other gifts for her birthday, and I gave her Mikayla's gift too! She was honestly so sweet, she could be my grandma!

When I left I was still stunned that I met Fenella, I even bought her audio book of memoirs, and they were signed! She also signed my Dougal and the Blue Cat, Carry On Regardless and Carry On Screaming! DVDs too.

The show itself was fabulous, well-structured and well-put together. Fenella is an absolute legend and she's still working today, she's 90 soon and I'm so excited to celebrate it for her! I gave her a present when I met her that was wrapped up, hopefully she unwraps it and loves my gift!

Fenella and Simon are a perfect duo, and I really hope I get the chance to meet them again!

A Long Hiatus + Blackpool Trip, twice!

Sorry for not updating in a while, I have been busy.

Well for a start, I am now 13 years old, officially a teenager. It feels different, yes I'm used to myself being a child but I'm a teenager, young-adult whatever you wanna call it.

I chose to go to Blackpool for my birthday, I was originally going to visit Castle Goring but due to the date Lady C was going to court my parents thought it wasn't a superb idea..

This was the start of my blog post for the 24th February 2017...

Goodness me, it's been 6 months since I last wrote on this blog.

I forgot all about this blog for some reason, but I have finally gathered the courage to write something. As I said before I went to Blackpool back in February and I had a wonderful birthday. It was only for the day but I didn't get much filmed, I spent the day with Shane and unfortunately Funland was shut upstairs so I couldn't film the 4-Track kiddie ride.

It feels weird not being 12 years old anymore, its probably because you're more used to being a child in this day and age. I went to Blackpool again back in July where I managed to film the rides I didn't film back in February, and I also managed to get into Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The hotel was pretty nice, the breakfast food was amazing, but I'd give the room a 6/10, pretty dated, we were in the dated side of the hotel. It was a bit musty too, our window overlooked the back of the hotel.

When we arrived the lobby was pretty good, its just the room that wasn't up to date.

Later, we met up with Elias Flinter, Shane and Elias' mum, Rebecca.

I wrote this around August/September time.

We went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach the next day. The rides were actually awesome, my favourite would have to be the Grand National, its so thrilling and fun.

We went up to Cleveleys that evening but the arcade I wanted to go in (Olympia Amusements) was shut, it was open the next day, the day we went home.

I stopped off at the comedy carpet on the way back to the hotel, I took a vlog there which can be seen in my Day 2 Vlog on YouTube.

The next day, obviously, we went home. Elias and Shane went to Cleveleys but we missed out, oh well :>

Sorry this was quite short, I don't spend much time on this blog but I will try to in the future! This MAY be updated from time to time if I get the chance.

My next blog post will be a recount on the day I went to meet Fenella Fielding!

Thanks for reading!

First Ever Blog + New Brighton Trip

Hello, welcome to my first ever blog post! :D

If you are reading this and haven't a clue who I am, my name is AJ The Fangirl or just AJ. I am a Youtuber from the United Kingdom who currently has just over 400 subscribers (as of the 9th February 2017, the day I am writing this).

I am also a full time fangirl, I fangirl over celebrities, TV shows, videos and almost anything I love. My main idol is Lady Colin Campbell, I first saw her on I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! in November 2015. I have other idols too, like Kim Woodburn (aka The Queen of Clean), Ariana Grande, Joe Lynch and loads more people I will probably fill up a whole blog post typing them all up!

I will use this website for blogging what has been going on in my life, where I have been and what I have done! So all I'm gonna do is do a simple recap of what happened yesterday, 8th February 2017.

It was my dad's birthday and me, my mum, my dad (obviously as its his birthday hehe) and my brother were going out to a restaurant, I didn't want to be told where we were going as I wanted it to be a surprise. We ended up going to one of my favourite places, Prezzo New Brighton :D

But before that we went to Morrisons New Brighton where I filmed a ride video for my channel (Northern Leisure Sportacus Flypod Kiddie Ride) and then we went to Prezzo.
Then we realised (when we were outside) we had half an hour until the table was ready, so we decided to take a stroll to the arcade nearby, The Bright Spot Arcade, but unfortunately, it wasn't open until 1pm (it was about 12pm when we got to the arcade) but one just near, Arcadia, was open so we had about a couple of minutes in there. Whilst I was in there I went on the weakest sweets grab machine ever!
It could grab something but it would slip like oil!! I managed to win a crocodile grabbing thing with an orange lolly in it, but I wanted to swap for a strawberry lolly that looked like an ice cream (I've had a blue raspberry version of it before and it was divine).

Me being me, I went to attempt to swap it only to be told,

"I'm not allowed to swap it, sorry."

I was pretty mad after that, I was stuck with a cheap grabbing toy with a probably out of date orange lolly inside it! We decided to get the table for Prezzo about 10 mins earlier than expected, the view from Marine Point is stunning. The food was delicious, I would certainly go there again.

After Prezzo, we then walked to the Bright Spot again. It was finally open, we visited there and all the rides were the same and in the same places. I managed to win a squidgy duck on one of the mini claw machines, its so cute but the air managed to deflate a couple of hours later :( we are hoping to find the hole in him so we can fix him.
The arcade was really quiet as it was term time, I actually spent one pound on a snake whacking game that I only won 7 tickets on !

We were then exiting the arcade when my dad pointed out that someone had left a plush of Marshall from PAW Patrol on one of the seats outside, so I looked around (because someone could have gone in to get something and left it there? But I realised they could have taken it with them, or they didn't want him? They could have left him?) and I ran over to the seat, scooped up Marshall and ran back to my parents and my brother.

We then left New Brighton and headed back home. Didn't really get up to much when I arrived home, the day before I managed to find a BBC Toybox Games Collection in the Oxfam Charity Shop in Chester. Then I managed to find a Pingu Forever VHS and a Rainbow: Zippy Sets Them Up VHS on a shelf near the tills raising money for Diabetes UK, 50p per video, I got home and my mum pointed out that Pingu Forever used to be at Wealstone Lane Library in Upon, last take out date for it was the 13th June 2005!! Goes back to 2004 hehe.

I tried the Toybox PC Rom disc on my computer and it works! Its a really good disc and it has loads of games from shows that aired on CBBC the time it was released. It is really good actually.

I guess that's all I have to write for this blog post, comment below if you have any questions, this is AJ signing out! :)
